My journey with AI began in 2017, when I first connected with data science skills. Forecasting models that predict future trends felt like modern-day sages in the age of Kalyug—offering insights with a measurable probability of occurrence.
As I deepened my understanding of data science, I became convinced that a predictable future is not just a possibility but a reality—especially in a world bound by repetitive tasks.
What truly intrigued me were the cognitive skills humans perform without AI. The “thinking hat” that once refined individualistic expression is now becoming generically available. Darwin’s principle of variation seems to be evolving into the realm of human thought. I observed this firsthand while raising my daughter. The cognitive variance from the mean has widened, influenced by AI-driven online content, leaving little room to escape addictive habits. Childhood play—both indoors and outdoors—has transformed dramatically compared to the 90s. The childhood I experienced was a struggle for existence, echoing Darwin’s theory.
From the era of Pentium 4 processors with limited computing power, we’ve evolved to GPUs like the A100, housing 54 million transistors. Yet, most of us still operate within 4–12 cores (~5000 threads), striving to find the right balance between performance and efficiency.
Concerned about my child’s delayed development, I delved into the concept of neurodiversity—exploring both large language models (LLMs) and the human brain, particularly the amygdala and prefrontal cortex. I left no biochemical stone unturned, studying serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin in detail. I realized that our brains now require “superfoods” to thrive. Deficiencies in Vitamin D3 and B12 are becoming alarmingly common in households today.
Once again, Darwin’s principle of natural selection plays a pivotal role: the struggle eliminates what is unfit and favors what can adapt and survive.
Yet, the reality remains unchecked. The intersection of AI and human cognition development presents both promise and peril.
Between newcomers and old elites, the battle for existence is intense and unfolding. But perhaps this struggle is the only way to preserve life’s essence.
So, I ask you—what is your sweet spot with AI?
